5-6-07 - More details are emerging about a second set of twisters that swept across parts of western Kansas Saturday.
State officials confirmed eight tornadoes touching down in central and southern Kansas, and the National Weather Service reported dozens more.
Eleven people were reported injured when a twister ripped the roof from a restaurant in the central Kansas town of Osborne. Two were taken to the hospital. Nine others were treated and released.
Six others were injured around midnight when a tornado damaged about 25 homes by a lake in the Ottawa County town of Bennington.
On Monday morning at 9am the North Central Kansas Chapter will set up a Client Service Center for victims of the most recent storms in Bennington. Tornadoes also hit Cloud, Clay, Rice and Barton counties, causing minor damage.
The storms also brought heavy rainfall, which caused flooding concerns in Barton and Saline counties.
