Salina Search Warrants Net Six Meth Suspects

On the morning of November 23, 2009, approximately 95 law enforcement personnel executed ten search warrants in Salina and Saline County. The search warrants were the result of a seven-month I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force investigation, dubbed Operation Full Throttle, which uncovered a methamphetamine distribution organization involving a large number of suspects from the Salina area. Numerous individuals involved in the distribution and use of illegal drugs, as well as wholesale suppliers of methamphetamine, were identified during the investigation.

Six suspects have been identified as being primarily responsible for importing and distributing approximately two pounds of methamphetamine weekly from drug sources outside of Salina:

1) Brianna Lynn Jacobson-215 East Borgmeyer Lane, #10, Assaria, Kansas
2) Jason Eugene Vermillion- 2774 Berschel, #206, Salina, Kansas
3) Shawn Dean Vermillion- 415 E. Claflin, Salina, Kansas
4) Kacie Renae Stimatze-215 East Borgmeyer Lane, #10, Assaria, Kansas
5) Justin Jeremy Barke- 215 East Borgmeyer Lane, #10, Assaria, Kansas
6) Jonathan Michael Gordon- 618 North 13, Salina, Kansas

During execution of the search warrants, agents seized: 266 grams (9.5 ounces) of methamphetamine, 2,390 grams (5.25 pounds) of marijuana, $12,100 in U.S. currency (believed to be drug proceeds), and eight firearms. One of the firearms seized was an illegal sawed off shotgun, and another was identified as reported stolen.

The following persons were arrested during the raids and have been booked into the Saline County jail for crimes including drug violations, weapon charges and pending arrest warrants:

11) Jason E. Vermillion (33)
12) Shawn D. Vermillion (29)
13) Brad S. Holmes (30)
14) Alexandria M. Bussart (21)
15) Scott A. Phoutavong (29)
16) Rashode Forsey (14)

Search warrants were executed at the following locations:
1) 116 South Chicago Street, Salina, Kansas
2) 215 East Borgmeyer Lane, #10, Assaria, Kansas
3) 2774 Berschel, #206, Salina, Kansas
4) 618 North 13th Street, Salina, Kansas
5) 1019 North 11th Street, Salina, Kansas
6) 415 East Claflin Ave., Salina, Kansas
7) 3129 Foxboro, Salina, Kansas
8) 639 Joanie Ave., Salina, Kansas
9) 322 West Claflin Ave., Salina, Kansas
10) 1014 East Prescott Ave, Salina, Kansas

As a result of the investigation, further arrests are expected. Drug and conspiracy charges against the primary offenders will be forwarded to the United States Attorney’s Office, via the Drug Enforcement Administration, where Federal charges will be considered.

Operation Full Throttle was a labor intensive, multi-agency investigation. Although started by the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force, significant assistance was provided by the Salina Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Saline County Attorney’s office.
