Sedgwick County deputies seized $52,600 in cash during a traffic stop on US 54 near Goddard.
The sheriff's office says a deputy stopped the vehicle last night for having expired plates -- not from Kansas.
Police dogs were called after the deputy talked to the two occupants of the car. The dogs indicated the car had contraband in it.
A search revealed the money, in wrapped packages. Deputies say the cash is believed to be connected to drug trafficking.
The driver was arrested for outstanding warrants. The passenger was interviewed and released.
