The controversy over Kansas football coach Mark Mangino is getting more heated. ESPN is leading with the story all day Thursday. Tuesday KU launched an internal investigation into the actions of the Jayhawk coach. Now more allegations of verbal and physical abuse are surfacing.
Former KU football players say Mangino poked a linebacker in the chest during practice, others say it was daily verbal abuse.

Two Wichita KU players say that's just part of the game.

"I've had my ups and downs with Coach Mangino. Some things are harsh with Mangino, but it's a harsh sport," said former player Jerome Kemp.

Roger Robben played at KU in the ninties.

"When I played college football, coaches were physical with us. They weren't abusive from what i felt like," said Robben who now coaches high school football. He doesn't agree with that style of coaching, but he says college football is more intense.

Mangino says he's done nothing wrong and plans on coaching Saturday against Texas.
