Spring Snow Latest Ever in Wichita

4-13-07 - Wichita has set a record for the latest recorded snowfall of the year. It's less than an inch in most places around the city, but marks the first time snow has arrived on April 14th.

Some of the heaviest snowfall occured in Hamilton County, west of Garden City. As of 10pm, Jay Prater reported that 13 inches had fallen in Johnson City, 8 inches in Dodge City and elsewhere in the southwest part of the state. Northwest Kansas saw four inches in most places, as did Hutchinson.
