A Minnesota man was killed after being struck by a car in Harvey County.

It happened just before 11:00 Thursday night. Officials say Bradley Wendt, 53, of Redwood Falls, MN was walking northbound down the center line of South Kansas Rd. when he was stuck from behind by a vehicle that had just exited off the interstate.

Authorities say the driver of the car tried to avoid the man in the center of the road once they saw him, but it was too late to avoid hitting him.

It appears the man was killed upon impact.

Preliminary investigation reveals Wendt may have been walking in the road due to a medical problem. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
