Use them as trash bins ,when they come for pick up they can open and see the maggots,flies,buns etc.

I take the good stuff to goodwill or salvation army.. the bad stuff that I would throw away goes in the red boxes
I'm glad Kake did this story. Very weird because I had this feeling today that they were a scam.
there are really non-profit or low income places that you can donate too. for example. Klothes Kloset, The Treehouse(for baby clothes) and the dry cleaners will execpt dress clothes for dress for sucess.

Well, guess I threw away some clothing that i thought was going to someone locally. Kind of a crock if you ask me.
Great...I have put plenty of clothes into the bin near my house thinking some little kid in need of clothes would be getting some. Next time I'll just put a sign in my own yard saying free clothes and then maybe I'll actually be HELPING someone the way I want to. If I wanted my clothes sold I'd sell them myself.
I say that all the bins should all be confiscated by the cities in which they have been placed. When the "owners" come to collect their donations and cannot find their bins then they should be arrested for fraud and turned over to the Feds!
I was skeptical in the first place. I figured stuff would just get stolen anyway. Get rid of them and the fake "warm and fuzzy feeling" that you are supposed to get when you donate.
I also have seen the red bins in our town. They look nice and there has not been trash around them. I haven't looked at them closely, however I plan to use them. I think it is a great service for the public to utilize! I know people who will throw things away rather than having to take it to a store at certain times of day when it isn't convenient. It is too bad some idiots put trash in them. That is why they took out the sorted recycling bins for plastic, paper, glass and aluminum years ago. Would they rather sort it at the landfill or out of the bins, there is going to be something in the wrong spot with all of their rules? I also thought the donations were going to help locally, however, we can be thankful the items are going to another needy country instead of being thrown away. There are needy children everywhere, not just in Kansas!
It's truly amazing how someone from Goodwill can talk trash on this organization for the amount of donation or lack of where they are going. I worked in the warehouse at GW and saw the amount of donations that went straight from the donation room, TO THE TRASH COMPACTOR there! So many clothes went back to a machine that smashed and bound them to be sent away. Truly amazing and I would never donate to them again. They could really help the community by holding a "sack sale" or rummage sale one day maybe two. People are unemployed or limityed income so they should open their hearts and accomadate the community. They might be suprised at how word of mouth could bring them more money. A giant sale would help clear them space and be good for those that struggle for clothes.
