A QuikTrip convenience store became the most convenient spot for a Wichita couple to stop after delivering their baby Monday afternoon.

Travis Bippert was driving girlfriend, Jennifer Rutledge to Via Christi-St. Joseph hospital when they pulled over into the parking lot of the Quik Trip convenience store at the corner of Harry and Webb Streets.

Bippert called 911 to report that his girlfriend had her baby and before they could make it to the hospital.

When paramedics arrived the only thing left for them to do was cut the cord, warm the baby up and deliver the mom and her new baby boy to the hospital.

Bippert, a first time father, said he was shocked and scared and would rather have seen his son born in the hospital. Rutledge, however, said she's been through this before, and it wasn't so bad.

They've named their new son, Travis Junior, or TJ for short. He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and is happy and healthy. Mom and baby are planning to leave the hospital Wednesday.
