Grain Elevator Accident in Plains, KS
One person was injured in a grain elevator accident in Plains, KS, Saturday. The Meade County Sheriff's Department confirms that a man was taken to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal and then flown to a Wichita hospital.

One person has been seriously hurt after an accident at the Plains, KS, grain elevator. The Meade County Sheriff's Department confirms the accident happened just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Not much is known at this time, but Deputy Richard Cross tells KAKE News that a man was injured when he somehow became trapped inside a piece of machinery. It's believed the man suffered a leg injury.

Southwest Medical Center in Liberal confirms the injured man was treated there, but was transferred to a Wichita hospital by evening time.

Cross says he is not sure if the victim is an employee at the grain elevator or not. The man is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.
