A cow caused a one-vehicle accident in North Central Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said.

Troopers were called to US Highway 36, 14 miles west of Mankato Thursday morning.

Lisa Hornbussell, 37, of Burr Oak, told troopers a cow walked on to the highway in front of her vehicle and she was unable to stop.

Hornbussell was injured and taken to the Jewell County Hospital for treatment.

The trooper's report did not indicate if the cow survived the impact.
