Wichita's Bethany Lutheran School is on lockdown for the remainder of the day after two students reported seeing a suspicious character. The school is located at 1000 W. 26th South.

The students were outside raising the flag when they spotted what they considered a suspicious character. Description of the person was given to police.

Parents will be notified through email. Principal Barb Mertens said there is no danger to students, and police are searching the neighborhoods around the school.
