Toddler Recovering From Wednesday Crash

A toddler is recovering in a Wichita hospital after a deadly crash took the life of her mother.

Two women were killed in a one-vehicle accident near Dodge City on Wednesday. The jeep they were riding in missed a curve in Ford County.

1-year-old Dayani Perez was in a car safety seat and was taken to a Wichita hospital . On Friday, she was listed in fair condition. Her mother, 22-year-old Rita Perez, died in the crash along with 18-year-old Amy Artega.

Farmers Could See Record Bushels

The US Department of Agriculture says Kansas could harvest record bushels of corn and soybeans this fall.

Early estimates say Kansas farmers could harvest a half billion bushels of corn for grain this year. It would be one of the top two corn crops in the state's history.

The agency also expects farmers to harvest a record-high 133 million bushels of soybeans, an 11% increase from last year.

Art In The Park Coming To Garden City

One of Garden City's oldest traditions will take place Saturday, the 40th Annual Art in the Park. The full-day event will begin at 8:00 am and last until 4:00 pm in Stevens Park.

It will include various arts and crafts such as jewelry, pottery, and artwork. The Sandhills Art Association sponsors the event and estimates 80 vendors from a handful of states could be on display. They also expect some new features from previous years.
