Saturday morning, McConnell Air Force Base said good-bye to the B-1 bomber, as the B-1Bs are headed for their new homes in Texas and South Dakota.

Last night, about 5,000 people attended the final After-burner Night; while observers watched the farewell from the Kansas Aviation Museum.

The B-1s arrived at McConnell in 1988, and at one time had 12 B-1s on station. Now, the B-1s are being replaced with 10 K-C-135-R tankers.
