Frontier airlines will soon start serving Wichita, mayor Bob Knight announced today. Frontier Express will fly two daily flights in to Denver International Airport, beginning Sept. 22.
The service gives Wichita a low cost carrier to cities in the Western United States. Denver is Frontier's hub city. Wichita passengers will be able to connect to many other cities. The Wichita City Council must approve the deal.
Frontier serves 38 cities, with 170 flights daily. The airline has 33 planes, including 24 Boeing 737s. Wichita Boeing workers build the 737 fuselage.
