I remember back in the 80's when my PE teacher was flirt with some of the 9th & 10th grade girls. It was always umcomfortable but something we never talked about. This "teacher" was known to cheat on his wife all of the time so it wouldn't have surprised me if he was having sex with his students. School is a place to learn not a sex club! Even if she was 16, this "teacher" should have left her alone. It makes me sick he won't serve any prison time.

She was 16 which is of consent age...Which ever side you are on...it's over and we should just let it go. It no longer matters what any of us think...

WAKE UP TAMMY....it is rape. She is a child at 14, not mature enough to or strong enough at this time to say no. She was with someone she was taught to trust, a teacher, and as a teacher I am disgusted. Also, consent is spelled with the way I did.

Tammy Mia culpa, I Learn something new every day. I guess the state feels it is ok to boink a child down to 14. Personaly I find this repulsive & I would not ruin a child of this age. I still have an issue with a teacher doing this to a student. How hard would it be for a person of authority asserting that authority over a child whether they are 14 or 16. Also by your tone are you related to this degenerate? Or to the little village bike maybe?

Let's make one thing clear...he did not rape this girl! And you Zack could have slept with this girl and gotten NOTHING b/c she is the age of concent!

People caught with drugs have a harsher sentence than this. People are currently serving a prison sentence for lesser crimes. What kind of message does this send to children? School employees are people who children should feel good to be around, feel comfortable with, look up to. How sad!

So let me get this straight, I can rape a child, betray the trust of the teacher student relationship, & basically get a tap on the wrist? This is why society slips into vigilante justice! Judges pay attention, your actions have consequences throughout society, if you do not want us to devolve into the old western justice system,(a short rope in a tall tree)you had better do your jobs & PUNISH those who are convicted of crimes in our community! Most of the time our justice system is what seperates us from a third world bananna republic.

Is this all that he gets? Seems like a very light sentence. I'm sure that the letter will really be a sincere apology also LOL. Probably lucky that the judge had him register as a sex offender.

Sounds like the judge is a complete fool himself. i teach and i certainly do NOT want a letter from this guy. yuck.......

What's that message all you get is a slap on the hand and out 30 dollars for postage he need's to have time in Jail

to jeannaj: What does matter if it was a boy or girl. He had relations with a child and if I was the judge, he would have gotten MORE.

Now does that really matter what sex his victim was?

If I remember right he was found out to be with a female student

Wow, 12 months probation and an apology letter to the teachers and schools? This sends a clear message to those who violate children.

Was he with a boy or girl?
