Wichita Police said an argument led to a shooting where two men died last week. Officers released additional information on the shooting today.
Officers were called to the 4000 block of Memory Lane Thursday evening. Two men were found in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Emmanual Delatorre, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jesus Manuel-Esparza, 18, died at a local hospital.
Investigators say Delatorre and Manuel-Esparza had minor arguments with the suspect in recent weeks. All three men were at a party Thursday night when they started arguing. Delatorre and Manuel-Esparza left the party. That's when officers said the 21-year-old suspect, identified as Austin Jones, followed them to the parking lot and shot them.
Officers said the suspect drove away from the scene and wrecked his car at English and Hillside. He was trying to restart his car when officers arrested him.
Police presented their findings to the District Attorney's office this morning.
Austin Jones has been charged with two counts First Degree Premeditated Murder and one count Criminal Possession of a Firearm. His preliminary hearing is set for July 20.
