Wichita Police said two groups shooting fireworks at each other led to a weekend shooting.

The argument happened just after 10:30 Saturday night in the 1900 block of North Piatt.

Police said a group of people on Piatt and a group of people on Shadybrook were shooting fireworks at each other. The group on Shadybrook said the fireworks were hitting too close to a group of small children, and walked to Piatt street to ask them to stop. A 19-year-old pulled a gun and started shooting, hitting two people.

A 19 year-old man was shot in the stomach. An ambulance transported him to a nearby hospital. An 18 year-old man was also shot in the leg. Witnesses drove him to the hospital in their own vehicle.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No one has been arrested.
