A Wichita woman was rushed to a local hospital after being stabbed during a fight over meat. The unidentified woman was stabbed multiple times, according to police.

"One group had loaned the other group parts of a grill for their cookout," says WPD Sgt. Kenneth Kimble. "We're being told that an individual from the first group retrieved that property and damaged the meat involved in the cookout."

Kimble says it appears the argument was between two groups of females who lived in separate parts of an apartment building in the 2800 block of South Richmond.

"We're not getting a lot of cooperation out here," Kimble says. "Everything broke out into a chaotic fight and it appears there's a lot of high emotions with a bunch of people who seem to be intoxicated."

As of early Sunday, no arrests had been made, but officers took several witnesses to police headquarters to be interviewed.
