Many areas of Central and South Central Kansas saw some beneficial rainfall overnight.
Rain pushed into Wichita around 2:00 Saturday morning with a few rumbles of thunder and gusty winds. No severe weather was reported. A severe thunderstorm watch posted for parts of Central Kansas on Friday night was allowed to expire.
KAKEland Meteorologist Aaron Blaser says this morning's showers and thunderstorms should slowly give way to partly cloudy skies this afternoon. Isolated showers may be possible early this evening along the Kansas-Oklahoma border, pushing southward.
Forecasters say weather should be clear in time for tonight's anticipated fireworks.
