Fireworks are to blame for a garage fire in south Wichita early Friday morning.
The fire started just before one Friday morning in the 5100 block of S. Madison. Fire fighters said the fire started when fireworks were placed in a trash can. They said the fireworks were still hot and re-ignited, causing the garage to catch fire.
Fire fighters also said this is a grim reminder of how careful you need to be when handling fireworks.
Investigators believe the fireworks caused $5,000 in damage to the garage, no one was hurt.
