The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says Clay Center police officers used justifiable force when they fatally shot a 66-year-old man on June 14.

Two law enforcement officers who responded to a domestic dispute
shot Ronald Hughes after he pointed a gun at them. The gun turned
out to be plastic.

Clay County officials say charges would not be filed against the
police officer involved in the shooting, who returned to work last
week after a mandatory leave.

A Clay County sheriff's deputy involved in the shooting also has
been cleared to return to work.
