Machine manufacturer MegaFab says it will close its plant in Hutchinson and shift operations to a plant in Illinois.
The move to Rockford, Ill., is expected to be complete by
September, costing 13 production jobs, said Kirk Johnson, director
of business and organization development with Catalyst Equity
Group, MegaFab's parent.
The plant builds machines that other industries use to shape
metal for the manufacture of different products.
MegaFab had already cut its workforce in half in October when it
dropped 20 jobs.
Johnson blamed the struggling economy for the decision.
