McPherson Co. Damage Caused By EF-1 Tornado

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service have determined an EF-1 tornado hit in McPherson County Saturday. Meteorologist Chance Hayes surveyed the damage eight miles west of McPherson today.

EF-1 tornadoes can have winds with speeds up to 110 miles per hour. Hayes said he believes the tornado was wrapped in rain, and that's why no one reported seeing the funnel.

Damage in the city of McPherson was caused by straight line winds.

The National Weather Service said damage in Barton County was caused by a funnel cloud that never touched the ground. For more information, click on the link below.
