Storms on Saturday generated high winds across a swath of central and eastern Kansas and injured two in Great Bend.

Amy Miller, Barton County emergency management director, said
Saturday the injuries were described as minor, including one person
who suffered cuts and another who was hit in the head by falling
tree limbs.

Miller said it appears straight-line winds hit south of Great
Bend shortly after 7 p.m., knocking down power lines and trees. She
said officials were studying the damage to determine if it was a
tornado. Witnesses said they saw a funnel cloud. Funnel clouds were also reported in Coffey, Franklin, McPherson, Marion and Dickinson counties.

KAKEland StormChasers provided live video from Reno and Mcpherson counties with areas of rotation and strong winds. Those winds snapped trees and disrupted power to parts of the city of McPherson. Some damage to small structures and trees were reported in parts of Marion and Dickinson counties.

The extent of the damage is still being determined at this time.
