The Barton County Commission is cutting the budget for agencies serving the disabled.
The commission passed a resolution this week capping the levy for the Great Bend area Community Developmental Disabilities Organization at one-half mill.
That amounts to about $80,000 this year.
It's down only slightly from the amount the agency received last year. But until last year, it also received $175,000 from the county.
Barton County faces a three million-dollar drop in property valuation, and expects $619,000 less in revenue next year.
Department heads are being asked to cut their budgets by three percent.
