Drunk Driver

A Kansas man could face serious charges after police say he let his five-year-old son drive him home when he was too drunk to do it himself.

It happened Tuesday evening just outside of Salina.

Sheriff's officers say the man set the boy on his lap and had him steer the car. The man’s other three-year-old son was strapped into a car seat in the back of the vehicle.

The truck went out of control and veered into the parking lot of a school. They wrecked when they tried to leave the parking lot. A nearby neighbor found them and called 911.

Miraculously no one was hurt. Police say the man refused an alcohol test at the scene. He was taken to the hospital for observation.

DUI and child endangerment charges could be filed later this week.
