Butler County authorities release the names of the drivers involved in Sunday's fatal accident near US 54 and Satchell Creek Road.

Police said 19 year old Daniel Persons of Towanda was killed after hitting a semi head on. The semi driver, 37 year old Somkahm Vongphenungpheng of Greeley, Colo. was not injured.

Investigators do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash, but are waiting on toxicology reports to assist in the investigation.

Butler County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an accident between a semi truck and a passenger vehicle at US 54 and Satchell Creek Road, which is east of El Dorado, at about three this morning.

When crews arrived on the scene they found the accident to be a near head on collision between a 2000 Mercury Sable station wagon and a semi tractor trailer truck.

The driver of the station wagon was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The names and ages of the people involved in the accident are not being released at this time and the accident is still under investigation.

The Butler county Sheriff's Department says that upon preliminary investigation it appears the station wagon was apparently going north on Satchell Creek Road when it turned east onto US 54 in the West bound lane. The truck, which was westbound on US 54, attempted to adjust his path and miss hitting the station wagon. At this time, it appears the station wagon went into the east bound lane and the two vehicles collided.

The Butler County Sheriff's Department says alcohol doesn't appear to have been a factor at the scene. However, a toxicology report will ultimately determine if alcohol was involved.
