A Wichita man was killed Saturday in a tragic accident on I-135 near Hesston. The accident happened about a mile north of Hesston just before 3 p.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The vehicle reportedly was traveling northbound on I-135 in the right hand lane when it blew a tire causing the vehicle to loose control. The vehicle then entered the median and rolled, ejecting two passengers.

Friends of the victims tell KAKE News that the people in the van were part of a local band called The Benders. They were driving to a music festival in Northeast Kansas.

The highway patrol identifies the fatality as David Keller, 47. Byron Brewer, 54, is currently listed in fair condition at Wichita's St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Edward Zweifel, 50, is listed in fair condition at Newton Medical Center.
