The DTV transition is almost done. Friday June 12 is the deadline for television stations across the country to drop the analog signal and go digital.
At Best Buy in West Wichita some people are still picking up their converter boxes. Others are coming in to get an antennae.
"I was using rabbit ears, so I had to go for an antenna," said Michelle Smith.
KAKE TV went to digital in February. KAKE's chief engineer says from his experience ,the way to get the best digital signal is to buy an outdoor antennae with your converter box and place it up as high as possible. The government extended the original DTV conversion deadline from February until now to give people more time to buy the boxes.
KAKE's translator stations will remain analog for now. If you are having trouble getting the DTV signal, you can turn to the translators at;
