An early morning fire destroyed a building that once housed a Kansas town's grocery store.

Fire crews from Offerle and Kinsley were called to the scene in Offerle just after midnight Friday.

The building is now vacant.

Kinsley Fire Chief Larry Myers said fire crews were able to save the town's nearby Post Office, City Hall and cafe.

Chief Myers said the cause of the fire isn't known.
