A Kansas woman was killed in a one vehicle accident in Osage County early today.

The accident happened on Scranton Road at 189th Street at 12:50 a.m.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a truck driven by Daniel Mellies, 31, of Overbrook, was southbound when it approached a T-intersection. There was no stop sign and the truck continued straight through the intersection, striking an embankment head-on.

Mellies' passenger, Jennifer Beck, 24, of Burlingame, died from her injuries. Mellies was taken to a Topeka hospital for treatment.
