A campaign by an animal rights group prompted by the death of Doctor Tiller is being shunned by some Wichita businesses.
PETA wanted to put up billboards up saying "Pro Life? Go Vegetarian" and "Pro Choice? Choose Vegetarian".
Two sign companies turned PETA down saying the timing isn't right or appropriate.
A spokeswoman from PETA's national headquarters told KAKE News, "All we can say is that if our billboards leave a bad taste in people's mouths, just give a thought to what animals think and feel as they head to the slaughter house."
PETA said it will not give up. It is still exploring other options for the billboards.
