Wichita Police have returned the suspect in the killing of Dr. George Tiller to Wichita. 51-year-old Scott Roeder, according to jail records, was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail at 11:11 p.m. Sunday.
Roeder is being held on one count of 1st degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Wichita Police, however, will not release Roeder's mugshot until he is formally charged in district court.
Those charges could come as early as Monday, according to Deputy Police Chief Tom Stolz. He did, however, say that charges may not be ready until Tuesday.
The two extra charges of aggravated assault are because Stolz says witnesses reported that Roeder pointed his weapon at them and threatened them as they tried to intervene and capture him.
