Chrysler announces it plans to eliminate hundreds of it dealers including 14 right here in Kansas.

Chrysler tells a bankruptcy court it plans to eliminate 789 of its dealers or about 25% of them across the country as part of its restructuring process.

The automaker has about 3,200 dealers but says that's too many. The dealerships on the cut list include

Countryside Motors, Wellington
Steven Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Wichita
Bennett Autoplex, Salina (Jeep only)
Briggs Jeep, Manhattan
Western Motors (Jeep Only), Garden City
George Motor Company, Clyde
Jim Clark Auto Center Jeep, Junction City
Stan Boos Auto Sales, Hiawatha
Wrights Inc., Hillsboro
Atchison Auto Group, Atchison
Beyer Motor Company, Gridley
Bud Brown Chrysler, Overland Park
Gary Hardy Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Holton
Jim Clark Motors, Lawrence
Keystone Chrysler, Mission
