Alabama state troopers say a Kansas man was killed in a chain-reaction wreck on Interstate 20 that was backed up by the earlier crash of a Greyhound bus.

Troopers said 85-year-old Orville Thompson of Haviland, Kan., died in a five-car crash.

The accident occurred just before 11 a.m. Monday near the Eastaboga exit in Talladega County, about 46 miles east of Birmingham.

Four others were treated for minor injuries.

Troopers had been forced to shut-down the interstate when a Greyhound bus struck a concrete support, injuring 18 passengers.

The bus wreck occurred at about 7 a.m.
