The weekend rain was a welcome sight for all of western Kansas, since residents haven’t seen a significant rainfall since October.
An inch and a half of rain fell north of Sublette, with even more landing in other areas. More importantly, it was the type of rain that farmers were so grateful for.
“It came very slowly and soaked in, just the perfect kind of rain. Just what we needed,” one Kansas farmer said.
From an economic standpoint, the rain saved thousands in irrigation alone.
