Residents in Pratt were woken early Sunday not by the Easter Bunny, but by a police officer after a vandal made his way up and down the streets of their town armed with a pellet gun.
"The police department rang our doorbell about 5 yesterday morning to let us know our window got shot out and cover it up before it got rained in anymore," said victim Tim Swope.
Now a McConnell airman is behind bars --- facing criminal damage to property charges.
Detectives arrested supply clerk 20 year old Sterling Blaze Haberlein yesterday for shooting out or damaging at least 17 vehicle and business windows.
Lt. Robert Walker of Pratt P.D. sways the case will be handed over to the county attorney soon.
"It'll pretty much be up to the Air Force if they'll take this from us," Walker said. "They'll have to get in contact with the county attorney and they'll work out the charges - if he's charged locally or charged with the military."
Residents like Swope say they're surprised and disappointed by the act.
"I'm glad they caught him. There's no reason for it. You know he'd be upset if someone shot his windows. No excuse."
Now that the holiday weekend is over, police expect more victims to come forward. If you think your home, business or vehicle was damaged by this vandal you are asked to call the Pratt County Sheriff's Department.
