A Salina man is recovering from injuries suffered when he was struck by his own car after a chain-reaction crash on a smoke-clogged highway in Wilson County.
The accident happened on Kansas Highway 39 near Fredonia at 3:51 p.m.
Troopers say Gayle McMillen, 59, was hit when he was inspecting damage from another accident moments before. Visibility was reduced because of smoke from numerous pasture fires in a wide area of the state.
McMiller was taken to a Fredonia hospital for treatment.
