A northeast Kansas couple whose bodies were found earlier this week died of gunshot wounds.

The Topeka Capital-Journal is reporting that the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office announced the cause of death Wednesday for James and Tina Stephenson. Their bodies were found Monday night in a home near Eskridge.

Tony Weingartner of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said autopsies were completed Tuesday and agents were completing reports. He said more information would be released when it was available.

Weingartner wouldn't elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
