WICHITA, Kan. -- New details have been released after four children were found unsupervised early Saturday morning in northeast Wichita.
Around 3:30 Saturday morning a woman found a four-year-old wandering in the 1400 block of North Volutsia. She found the child's home nearby, and discovered three more children, including two one-year-olds and a six-month-old alone inside.
Police were called, and the three boys and one girl were taken to Wesley Medical Center to get checked out before being placed in protective custody.
During a daily police briefing Tuesday morning, police sad the kids' 24-year-old mother had left them home alone around 5 p.m. on Friday. The children remain in protective custody as police continue to search for her.
