HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Kansas woman is dead and two other people were hurt in a crash Tuesday morning in Reno County.
The crash happened just after 8 a.m. at K-14 and Arlington Road, about 8 miles south of Hutchinson.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Malibu was westbound on Arlington Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at Arlington Road. The Malibu pulled out in front of a southbound Ford Explorer, and they collided. The Explorer then hit an eastbound Ford F-350 stopped at the sign.
The driver of the Malibu, 92-year-old James F. Richey of Haven, was taken to a Hutchinson hospital for treatment. The passenger, 85-year-old Ollie R. Richey of Haven, was transported to a Wichita hospital where she later died.
The 30-year-old driver of the Explorer suffered minor injuries, and the 63-year-old driver of the F-350 wasn't hurt.
