HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- Four people were hurt in a crash Friday night just west of Hutchinson.
It happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Nickerson Boulevard and Wilshire Drive.
Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin VanScyoc said when he arrived on scene, he saw a white Plymouth Breeze with heavy front-end damage sitting in the middle of the intersection. Its 16-year-old driver told deputies she was unable to stop at the intersection and hit an eastbound minivan, which then overturned.
The driver and a 15-year-old passenger in the Plymouth were taken to a local hospital with possible head, neck and back injuries. A 39-year-old passenger was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the minivan was taken to a Hutchinson hospital with neck and back injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
