I agree that Camelot for kids schools should be looked at, in Kansas and other places. They are abusive.

WOW! All of this is out of control. Whatever these people THINK happened is definitely not the real story. SHUT UP! Only the kids & the staff that were there for a while before the place got shut down know what they're talking about. INCLUDING ME. God, everybody just has to get stuff twisted. Nobody was ever abused when I was there. So yeah, thanks.

The place was badly run, the staff and the parents lied to-but the kids were never abused. I worked there.

Be careful who you blame

you dont pull on superman's cape and you dont mess with the KDHE. Dang they had 3 chances to change things. The owners promised the town $10k and never seen a cent. The owners kid was a cauky punk who knew it all.

As a former employee The kids were not abused. The child in handcuffs was VERY suicidal and she would ask for them at times. We Never should of accepted her but we did what was best to save her life. I will agree, the owners didn't give two cents about these students, but the staff LOVED them and took care of them like their own children. There were times that they didn't get just what they want at the time, but that was not abuse or neglect. For anyone who cares, the staff was the ones that talked to the state more than anyone. We ALL worked for the kids not the facility. Two owners were great, but one owner and the director of operations were there ready to open the pen and head the children in like cattle for the simple dollar! May the approriate people rot in hell and may the staff that was there and cared and loved the children be respected and please realize, not everyone here is bad. The kids loved almost ALL staff members and enjoyed their time at WRA.

No one was EVER abused, that a fact those kids have it pretty good. Also no child was ever hand cuffed for a month. Maybe once or twice breifly just to control the child because of special situations

Hey people that don't know what you are talking about SHUT UP know kid was ever abused at white rock. If anything it is more like a country club. This is a private placement facility. The parents place them there and pay big bucks. Poor managment yes, abuse never.

these children just get thrown away...they get in trouble and people give up on them. they dont care what happens to these children, they arent theirs, they get smart mouthed and the adults cant suck it up and act like adults. parents would be in prison for what these places have done to children, i my self many years ago was put in a "treatment" place, and stuck in rooms and tied to beds sometimes for days. no one would ever believe the kids this happend to since we were trouble anyways. children who get in trouble are crying out for help, the state is supposed to do that, but they only cause more problems. they took away our rights to dicipline, they took our rights from being parents. grandparents can now take your kids for no reasons, the state can come take them for a simple swat on the bottom, when is it going to end? give the authority to parents again, not to strangers, 50 yrs ago parents had authority, look at the differences. i hope this place and the workers get charged.

Perhaps all of the people that are screaming about abuse in the system and going to their legislators and have been to the governor and to KDHE and BRSB and Don Jordan have some credibility to what they are saying. Kansas the Storm is Coming...You can't hide the truth forever.. These people have been sweeping it under the rug for a very long time. If it were the parents doing these things they would be in jail and have their rights terminated. What is the punishment for this facility and its employees?????

Who woulda guessed that this wasn't a long time coming-- would help if the owners actually cared about the place instead of living their highlife back in Nevada or wherever they're at. This is probably all for the better minus the fact of the people that just lost their jobs!

the state should be checking out facilities in Wichita as well, not sure about locked doors but they sure like to use physical abuse at Camelot for kids...many mnay reports been made but nothing done about them, when will they ever start looking into this serious situation. very sad these kids end up at these facilities and get no help. the state needs to step up because they are responsible as much if not more than the facilites because they allow this to happen time and time again even after at least 10 reports if not more been going on for long time.

Huh, so this is what they do to kids after they take them away from their parents who try to dicipline them. Stick them in homes and facilities that actually abuse them. WOW
