They are some of the biggest vehicles on the road. Some people call them their home away from home. We're talking about RVs and campers.
This weekend more than 1,500 people are gathering in Hutchinson for the National Family Campers and RVers Convention.
If it drives 70 miles per hour and can carry a family of 4 or 6, they will come. And they've come from all over North America.
700 RVs and campers will take up just about every free square inch of land on the state fairgrounds in Hutchinson. This is the first time the National Family Campers and RVers Convention has come to Kansas.
Campers say they enjoy the friendships they make with each other. They say a big advantage in owning an RV, is it gives you the freedom to go anywhere in the U.S. without having to worry about booking a hotel room.
Event organizers say they chose Hutchinson because it served as the regional location for the convention last year, and because of family-related attractions like the Cosmosphere.
