Iran Arms Shipments

A Wichita business is one of eighteen companies around the nation to be searched by federal authorities as part of a check into arms shipments to the Iranian military.

Assorted Hardware has been operating in Wichita for a quarter of a century. They buy and sell aircraft parts that other companies have stopped selling.

On Wednesday, federal agents searched Assorted Hardware. They seized photos and paperwork. Investigators believe Assorted may have sold parts to an Iranian military front company two years ago.

Assorted Hardware operating director John Holt says his company shipped a $125 drain plug to the London-based company Multicore in 2001. Holt says he did not know Multicore is an alleged front company for the Iranian military.

Holt says his business has not been charged or subpoenaed. He says they are fully cooperating with federal investigators.
