Sizzling temperatures can mean danger for people who have no way to keep their homes cool. The Salvation Army predicts it will need hundreds of fans to help people in need this summer.
Tim Brown with The Salvation Army says, "The biggest concern we have are for families with elderly people and small children. Obviously those are people that have a lot more problem beating the heat."
The Salvation Army says it's had to turn away many people who need fans to help keep their homes cool. That is why KAKE TV, The Salvation Army, Vornado, and Emprise Bank have teamed up for the KAKE Fan Club.
You can be a hero in a hot home this summer for a family who needs a cool break. Simply buy a new fan and drop it off at your local Salvation Army, fire station, Emprise Bank, or at KAKE TV.
