Three passengers on a flight arriving at Wichita's Mid Continent airport are taken to a local hospital, after one of them shows SARS-like symptoms.
But tonight, Wichita health officials say they're confident the three people do not have SARS - or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. All three have been released from the hospital, but will remain under observation for 10 days.
The family recently visited Hanoi, Vietnam -- one of the countries
where SARS broke out. The CDC removed it's travel alert for Hanoi in mid-May, because more than 30 days had gone by since the beginning of symptoms for the last case there.
Other passengers on the plane and the crew were detained briefly for
questioning, then released.
Again, there are no confirmed cases of SARS from this incident. And local health officials do not think the people who were on that plane are contagious.
