A 20-year-old Augusta, Kansas, woman was sentenced today to 20 years in prison without parole for her part in her mother's murder.
Jennifer Self pleaded no-contest in April to first-degree felony murder. She didn't admit guilt, but she did acknowledge the strength of the state's case against her.
If convicted at trial, she could have faced a sentence of 50 years without parole.
Self and her boyfriend were arrested after authorities found the body of Patricia Self in the burned wreckage of the Self family's home near Augusta in March of last year.
The boyfriend, Joshua Robertson, was convicted of first-degree murder and other crimes. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison
