Tuesday morning, Kansas Attorney General Phil Kline presented Operation PADLOC. Its focus is to locate parole violators with a history of crimes including murder, kidnapping or crimes against children and put them back in jail. Kline says while this is the responsibility of the Kansas Department of Corrections, they are not able to do it alone.
Kline says, "We've decided to take action to make sure that the most severe absconders who threaten public safety are apprehended and brought to justice."
Operation PADLOC is a partnership between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
