Fire investigators are still looking into clues what caused a house to explode early Friday afternoon. Officials said the extent of damage to the structure, makes it difficult to pinpoint an exact cause.

Experts said, however, they know the blast originated in the interior of the house.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

The fire is out at a Wichita home that exploded early Friday afternoon. The location is just north of Towne West Square, near the intersection of St. Louis & Baehr.

Neighbors told KAKE's Jennifer Bocchieri they heard a loud explosion just after 12:30 p.m., and went outside to see the house destroyed. Bocchieri said the home's roof is on the ground.

The homeowner, who was not at home when the blast happened, told Bocchieri he had only lived in the house since April.

Fire investigators confirm there was an explosion, but they aren't certain if it was sparked by natural gas.
